The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation recognizes the importance of a quality education and is dedicated to helping students at Southern Miss find a way to achieve their higher education goals.
The USM Foundation administers a variety of scholarships for eligible students through the Golden Opportunities (GO) Scholarship and Competitive Programs Application System that has many useful online features and benefits. Students can easily search, review requirements, apply and accept awards for available scholarship opportunities. Interested students can apply for all scholarships administered by the USM Foundation using this online application. Students are required to complete the application once each academic year.
The Golden Opportunities system also hosts the applications for Honors College Admissions and Achievement Awards, the Luckyday Citizenship Scholars program, Freshman Designation-Based Scholarships and Transfer Designation-Based Scholarships.
How to apply for scholarships:
- Click on the gold button below to access the Golden Opportunities System
- Sign in to the scholarship application system using your Campus ID and SOAR password
- Complete the application
- If a scholarship is awarded, complete the acceptance process
Students will be matched with scholarships for which they are eligible and will receive an email when a scholarship has been offered. Eligible students must be either currently enrolled or accepted for admission with plans to attend The University of Southern Mississippi for the 2024-25 academic year.
