The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation welcomes and encourages gifts made to honor or memorialize a loved one, colleague or mentor. These contributions are commonly called tribute gifts and come in two forms: honorariums and memorials. The person being honored or memorialized is referred to as the tributee.

These unique gifts not only provide essential support for our University but can also ensure the tributee’s legacy will endure forever at Southern Miss. Scholarships, faculty chairs and professorships, campus facilities and other gift options may be named after these special individuals.

Tribute Gifts may be to an existing fund or can be designated to establish a new fund in the tributee’s name in the form of an endowment, annual scholarship or one-time scholarship. The creation of an endowment requires a minimum of $15,000. The minimum contribution required to create a named annual scholarship is $2,500. There is no minimum requirement for a one-time scholarship.
